“Placerville Brewing Company was formed in the summer of 2005 from the purchase of the assets of the former Hangtown Brewery, Inc. which was at the same location. We like to think we kept the best (the brewer and the beer styles), and changed the rest (almost everything else except the Fish and Chips). We are privileged to be part of a rich tradition of brewing in Placerville which includes The Mountain Brewery (early through mid-1800s) and Ziess Brewery (mid-1800s to Prohibition), and our décor features historical items (an old wooden beer cask, beer shipping crates, photos) from these and other breweries.”
